Words of Hope

I have had a difficult couple of months due to being unwell. But, as usual, I’ve found comfort in words - be those from books (check out my Goodreads for my book reviews!), poetry or quotes.

I thought I would share a few of the quotes and sayings that have helped me through, in-case you need to hear any of them too.

There is hope even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

This is just one chapter, not your whole story.

Just because the negative thoughts are loud doesn’t mean they’re true.

Never forget how hard you’ve already fought for yourself.

There is a version of you that gets through this.

Intrusive thoughts say nothing about who you truly are.

Another couple of comforts have been Rachel Platten’s song ‘Bad Thoughts’ and the podcast ‘The Comfort Zone’ by Ro Mitchell and Jaycie Fry - it was on there that I heard ‘there is a version of you that gets through this’. I have kept reminding myself of that over and over, and you should too if you’re struggling.

Do any of these quotes or phrases speak to you? Repeat it to yourself again and again. You are bigger than the bad thoughts.

Love, Emily x
